>>>>COLLECTOR'S VINTAGE ALAIA BLACK ACETATE HOODED FISHTAIL GOWN -XS<<<<<. ULTRA RARE VINTAGE ALAIA COUTURE GOWN from 1986, ALAIA's most CREATIVE BEST DECADES with WHITE LABELS. Insanely glamorous, sensual MASTER PIECE beyond my words!!
The dress in soft and sleek Acetate material was said to "resemble the skin of a MERMAID from the hood that covers the woman's head to the train that trails after her". Hooded and trained evening dress by Azzdeine Alaia in 1986, made of slinky BLACK acetate knit that molds the body better than a glove, with similarly canny curved seaming. Set into one of these audacious seams is a zipper that begins between the breasts, snakes up over one shoulder, slithers diagonally down across the back and swoops forward over one hipbone to continue diagonally downward in front again.. Breathtakingly sensual revealing skin when spiral zipper set opened in a curved seam!!! Hood and scarf fastened with snaps.
Permanent collection for Museum of Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, USA. Grace Jones wore Alaia hooded outfits on the Bond film(1985) "A View to A Kill". Alaia designed her wardrobe for that film. Slightly sheen SAGE GREEN COLOR. 5 ft 10 inches HEIGHT.
The late Azzedine Alaïa was renowned for celebrating the female form through his iconic figure-hugging designs. While growing up in Tunis, Alaïa developed a love for couture thanks to his glamorous sister and a family friend who would share her copies of Vogue with him. After studying sculpture, Alaïa became a dressmakers assistant and soon began making dresses for private clients. He moved to Paris in 1957 and worked briefly for Christian Dior before being interrupted by the Algerian war.
On his return to Paris he worked for Guy Laroche and Thierry Mugler until he opened his own atelier in the late Seventies and released his first ready-to-wear collection in 1980. Best known for his seductive clothes which cling to the body, Alaïa was one of the first designers to put women in leggings and sexy leather ensembles as well as his signature body-con and bandage dresses.
He caught the attention of the American market who embraced his style and soon he had his own stores in New York and Beverly Hills, as well as an army of vivacious women wearing his designs, counting Grace Jones, Tina Turner, Madonna and Naomi Campbell as fans. Despite semi-retiring during the Nineties due to the death of his sister, Alaïa continued to enjoy success with private clients and his ready-to-wear business. He was a true independent who ignored both fashion show schedules and fleeting trends, following his own unique creative path.
